Persistence and The Rehabilitation Process

How many times do we hear that persistence is the key to success? The message is everywhere if we look. I think it was Calvin Coolidge who was responsible for that marvellous quote about it. Oh of course and then there was Sir Winston.

Why am I writing about this now? Well I feel a great deal of what I know about injuries and rehabilitation has come purely and simply through trial and error. Looking at it another way, it is nothing more than persistence. Just keeping going until we find the thing that gives us the result we are looking for.

Much of the time we are not experiencing the result we desire. The conditions have not yet caught up with our thoughts. The thing to do here is to hold the thought strongly of what it is we are looking to achieve despite what is occuring around us at that insant.

If it all seems too tough, the results are not yet evident and you feel doubtful, welcome to the human race. Success and glory come to those who persist. If giving up is not an option you are already there. The rest is just a matter of time.

Physical rehabilitation after injury or trauma is often a lonely place. Getting through requires insight and discipline and can ask us to dig deep inside ourselves in order to achieve. Hard or easy is not the issue- it is what it is. You may err and sit a while. What really matters is whether you are going to get up again. If you need a good coach, therapist, friend, a book or some music to help you, do so. They are all invaluable.

Use whatever you have to and you will see the your goal.

As well as persistence you need good information. Check out what's on offer in The Clinic.
